About this tool

A photo of a barcode is common — a warehouse label, a product package, a shipping receipt — but not every barcode is a QR code, and this one reads them all: Code 128, Code 39, EAN, UPC, ITF, Codabar, Data Matrix, PDF417, Aztec and QR, in a single pass.

How to use it

  1. Upload an image, or paste a public image URL.
  2. The decoded data appears along with the detected barcode format.

Examples

Reading a shipping label's Code 128

A photo of a package's shipping label
Format: CODE_128, data: the tracking number or ID encoded in the barcode.

Common problems

A clearly visible barcode isn't detected.
Barcode decoding is sensitive to angle, blur and glare more than QR codes are — a straighter, sharper, evenly-lit photo (or a screenshot rather than a photo of a screen) succeeds far more often.
