About this tool

A long document without page numbers is harder to reference in a meeting, a review, or a legal filing — "see page 12" only works if the pages say so. This stamps them on, without needing the original source file the PDF was exported from.

How to use it

  1. Upload a PDF.
  2. Pick a position, font size, starting number and format (using {n} for the current number and {total} for the count).
  3. Optionally restrict it to a page range, then download.

Examples

Numbering starting from an appendix

Start at 1, format "Page {n}", range "5-20"
Pages 5 through 20 get "Page 1" through "Page 16" stamped on them; pages outside that range are untouched.

Common problems

The numbers overlap existing content near the page edge.
Try a different position (the four supported spots are the bottom or top, centered or in a corner) or a smaller font size — there's no automatic collision detection with existing page content.
