About this tool

A screenshot of a code editor is a common way to share a snippet, but dragging a whole IDE window into a screenshot tool is more effort than the snippet deserves. This renders just the code — syntax-highlighted, with window chrome — straight to a downloadable PNG.

How to use it

  1. Paste a code snippet and pick its language for syntax highlighting.
  2. Choose a theme and, optionally, a filename to show in the title bar.
  3. Download the rendered image as PNG.

Examples

Sharing a short function

A 4-line JavaScript function, dark theme, filename "greet.js"
A rounded, syntax-highlighted PNG with traffic-light window controls and the filename centered at the top.

Common problems

The highlighting misses some keywords or misreads a string.
This uses a small hand-written tokenizer, not a full language parser — it covers keywords, strings, comments and numbers correctly for common cases, but unusual syntax (e.g. multi-line strings in some languages) may not highlight exactly as an IDE would.
