Audio Converter

Convert MP3, OGG, M4A and other audio formats your browser can play to WAV.

Converts to WAV — the one format every browser can encode without an extra library.

Audio is processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded.

About this tool

Converting audio here means decoding whatever format your browser understands into raw samples, then writing those samples back out as a WAV file — a real, lossless conversion for the decode step, though the destination format is always WAV rather than a choice of several compressed formats.

How to use it

  1. Upload an MP3, OGG, M4A, FLAC or other browser-playable audio file.
  2. Its duration, sample rate and channel count are shown once it decodes successfully.
  3. Press Convert to WAV and download the result.

Examples

Converting a voice memo

An M4A file recorded on a phone
A WAV file with the same duration, sample rate and channel count, playable in software that doesn't support M4A.

Common problems

The upload fails to decode at all.
The file may use a codec your specific browser doesn't ship a decoder for (uncommon, but happens with some AAC/M4A variants in some browsers) — try a different browser, or convert with a desktop tool that bundles its own codecs.
